What is she hitting on the boom? Is it the short stubby that is above the derailleur? Can you put some padding on the part that she hits?

Nothing above the derailer is necessary and the post can be cut as you please.However, it will affect resale value.

If you ever need to mount a light after you cut the tube, you can always add a TerraCycle Accessory mount and it will not stick out to the side.Read More
